Setting:
A remote part of Ireland. |
|
The
Play: Two
bachelor brothers smoulder by the fireplace, cold in spirit and warmed
by mistrust, accusation and hate. Fr. Walsh remains wedged between their
antagonism and his zest for poteen and freedom from parish duties.
Girleen sets this dark house on fire with her vitality and sensual fire.
Throughout the conflict the author spreads sparkling gems of laughter
with sudden flashes of fun. |
|
The
Group: The
Melting Pot Theatre Group was formed seven years ago. Performances to
date include "Bouncers" by John Godber in 1966,
"Philadelphia Here I Come" by Brian Friel in 1998 and
"The Field" by John B. Keane in 2000. This is their first year
to appear on the festival circuit. |
