The Play: Set in the rural Ulster countryside, Boyd's Shop is a light-hearted snapshot of life in the mid50's. The action is set in the home and shop of Andrew Boyd and his daughter Agnes. Competition in business is provided by the arrival of John Haslett and he immediately falls for Agnes. The young minister, Mr. Dunwoody, also has eyes for Miss Boyd and this triangle adds to the banter and fun, which the play is based upon. How will young Haslett and his modern techniques fare against the conservative methods of Andrew Boyd and who will win the affections of Miss Boyd?

The Group: From a rural community near Omagh in Co. Tyrone, the group was formed in February 1998, with their first production being "Moll" by J.B. Keane. Successive years of participation on the Festival Circuit with plays, such as, "The Country Boy" (J. Murphy), "The Patrick Pearse Motel" (H. Leonard), brought much success. This year, the group has finally made the break through and qualified for the Confined Finals. With an eye to traditional drama and family entertainment, the group has become a popular and regular addition to many festival programmes and audiences.
