The play is set in the West of Ireland in the summer of 1998. All the action takes place in Jack Griffin’s home over the course of two weeks. Jack and Peteen Griffen had a serious falling-out many years previously and this relationship has continued to fester. When Martin Griffin returns to Ireland to claim his inheritance, dramatic events begin to unfold and dark long held secrets come out into the open. Bridie, the local “Home Help” tries to keep the “brothers” in some sort of order and finds herself moving between the two of them trying to keep them from killing each other and dishing out advice, medication and justice to all. When Martin’s mother becomes terminally ill, the various relationships that exist between them begin to change…forever.
Michael Carey hails from Headford in Co. Galway. He was involved for many years with Headford Drama Group and has written several plays including Thy Will Be Done and Craddock’s Well. Thy Will Be Done has won many awards at various festivals, including the overall award at the Dundalk International Festival.
