The Field (2001)
The Field, by John B. Keane was chosen as the 2001 Summer production. It was the most successful Summer Show in the history of the Group with over four thousand people coming to see the show. One of the attendees was Liam McAuley of the Irish Times and his comments were published in the Irish Times' Irishman's Diary column of the fourth of August. We were very fortunate that Pat Connaughton accepted the role of Producer. Pat has won All Ireland acting and production awards and offered all those on stage new insights into acting and bringing John B. Keane's famous work to life. The production team also consisted of Ann Colgan and Clodagh Cecil.
Because it requires an enormous commitment to stage a show twice a week for nine weeks, each part is shared. While this might make it easier for actors and actresses, it make the task more difficult for the production team that is required to work with two casts.
