50th South Leinster Drama Festival

The 2006 South Leinster Drama Festival (our 50th) came to a close on Saturday 18th March.  Christopher Fitz-Simons said he was pleased with the high standard throughout and announced the following results.

Tinahely Drama Group, Co. Wicklow. The Year of The Hiker Hansel Whelan, Best Supporting Actor, (Confined).
Wexford Drama Group Someone Who Will Watch Over Me Audience Award; Best Play (Dioceses of Ferns); Andy Doyle, Best Actor (Open); 3rd. Open.
Sundrive, Dublin Juno and The Paycock Special Adjudicator Award, Pacelli O'Rourke (Captain Boyle) and Audrey Murphy (Juno); Best Supporting Actor (Open), Terry Martin (Joxer); Best Supporting Actress (Open), Pat Thornberry (Maisie Madigan).
Newbridge, Co. Kildare Sive Best Actor (Confined); John Bowdren (Pats Bocok). (3rd Confined)
Silken Thomas, Co. Kildare Trainspotting Best Producer; Sean Judge. (2nd. Open).
Kilrush, Co. Wexford. The Silver Dollar Boys Special Adjudicator Award. Best Supporting Actress; Hannagh O'Sullivan. (2nd. Confined)
Kilmeen, Co. Cork. A Crucial Week in the Life of a Grocer's Assistant Best Production 1st.(Open). Best Actress; Nora Scannel (Mother). Best Set and Costumes.
Ballycogley, Co. Wexford. The Weir Best Production 1st. (Confined). Best Actress; Catherine Murphy (Valerie).
