South Leinster Drama Festival 2002
The results for this year's South Leinster Drama Festival have been announced and they are included in the various productions below:
Friday 8th March – Moate Club, Naas, in "The Good Person of Szechwan" by Bertolt Brecht
Winner of Best Actress, Open Section: Anne Hurley as Mrs. Shin.
Saturday 9th March – Classic Revival (Dublin) in "Twelve Angry Men" by Reginald Rose
Winner of the Premier Award, Best Production in the Open Section, The S. & A.G. Davis Rose Bowl.
Sunday 10th March - No performance.
Monday 11th March – Kilrush Drama Group (Wexford) in "Sive" by John B. Keane (Confined section)
Winner of The Echo Cup, Best Production in the Confined Section.
Winner of The Poulshone Cup, Best Setting and Costume.
Winner of Best Actor, Confined Section: P.J. Arthur as Mike.
Winner of Best Actress Confined Section: Kay Cahill as Mena Glavin.
Winner of Best Supporting Actor, Confined Section: Martin Hayden as Sean Dota.
Tuesday 12th March – Silken Thomas Players (Kildare) in "Angels in America" by Tony Kushner (Confined section)
Winner of a Special Merit award for Lightning and Set.
Wednesday 13th March – Enniscorthy Drama Group "Something about Roses" by Andy Doyle
Winner of The Gorey Leather Company Cup: Best Producer, Frank Murphy.
Winner of The Hadden & Stafford Cup: Best Production from the Diocese of Ferns.
Winner of The Audience Award.
Winner of Best Actor, Open Section: Pat Connaughton as Daddy.
Thursday 14th March – Sundrive Players in "Living Quarters" by Brian Friel
Winner of Best Supporting Actor, Open Section: Pacelli O'Rourke as Fr. Tom Carty.
Friday 15th March – Ballycogley Players (Wexford) in "Same Old Moon" by Geraldine Aron (Confined section)
Winner of Best Supporting Actress, Confined Section: Mary Doyle as Bridie.
Winner of a Special Merit award for Lightning, Sound and Set.
Saturday 16th March – Estuary Players in "Memory of Water" by Shelagh Stephenson
Winner of Best Actress, Open Section: Jackie Murphy as Teresa.
